SMITHFIELD TOWN COUNCIL AND SMITHFIELD SCHOOL COMMITTEE JOINT WORKSHOP CANCELLATION
SMITHFIELD, RI – The Smithfield Town Council and Smithfield School Committee joint workshop scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Smithfield Town Hall has been cancelled. The Town has received a significant number of inquiries from individuals as well as news outlets relative to the meeting scheduled for tomorrow evening.
However, due to the number of people expected to attend the Town Hall Council Chambers will exceed the posted capacity and the meeting will have to be re-scheduled. The Town is unable to move the meeting to a larger venue as such notification requires a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.
The joint workshop will be rescheduled after the next regularly scheduled School Committee meeting which will occur on November 6, 2025. The new date and venue will be posted on the Secretary of State’s website as well as the Town of Smithfield website.
