The Allenville Mill Storehouse Tours scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2026, have been postponed. Information about the Allenville Mill Storehouse and the survey for its future use can still be found below.

Important Notice:
The Allenville Mill Storehouse is currently unoccupied and not in active use. At this time, the building does not meet current building code or ADA accessibility requirements and lacks modern utilities needed for public occupancy. The tour is intended to help residents better understand the building’s existing condition as the Town considers potential future uses.
The Town of Smithfield is also seeking community input on the future use of the Allenville Mill Storehouse located at 5 Esmond Street next to the East Smithfield Neighborhood Center.
The Bromberg family donated this property to the Town of Smithfield in 2021 with the understanding that it would be utilized for “educational, recreational, and/or civic purposes while maintaining the historic integrity of the building .”
Your feedback will help guide strategic planning for the building’s reuse for educational, recreational, and/or civic purposes, while preserving its historic character. This survey is intended to gather ideas and priorities; any future use would be subject to feasibility, funding, and required approvals.
