Code Updates

The 2025 Rhode Island Statewide Building Codes are in effect as of December 1, 2025, adopting certain 2021 International Codes and their RI amendments.

As of March 1, 2026, all requests to design to previous code cannot be requested.: All permit applications must comply with the 2021 RI Statewide Codes. No new permits will be accepted if designed under previous Codes.
