Electronic Payments (ACH)

The Town of Smithfield accepts electronic payments (ACH) for real estate, tangible and sewer taxes. To authorize payment of your taxes by ACH, complete the Authorization for Direct Payment form and return it to the Tax Collection Department at 64 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917 or by email at ramore@smithfieldri.gov.

Please note that there are two options relating to how to pay taxes. The following indicates when payments will be deducted from the designated account. Quarterly: September 1st, December 1st, March 1st and June 1st. Annually: September 1st.

If an ACH begins during the tax year, payment options will be discussed with the Tax Collector. Insufficient funds/return payments may result in a processing fee and/or termination of this payment option.

Pay your TAX bill online by clicking this link. There is a Credit or Debit fee of 2.35% of your payment with a $1.00 minimum. Electronic check will have a fee of $.95.

Deposit Box

A Drive-Up Deposit Box is located at the front entrance of Town Hall for payments to the Tax Collector’s Office. Payments accepted for Real Estate, Motor Vehicle, Sewer, and Smithfield Water Supply bills. No cash please.
