The Department of Public Works Highway Division is responsible for maintaining the Town’s roadway infrastructure and associated drainage systems, signs, curbing, and sidewalks. This includes aggressive preventative maintenance programs along with short term and long-term capital planning.
Activities include maintaining a pavement management program for approximately 103 miles of roadway, reconstruction and preventative maintenance of pavement surfaces, snow and ice removal, roadside mowing, street sweeping, traffic markings, stormwater management, detention pond maintenance, street and regulatory signs and maintenance of the public shade trees.
The department also assists other departments with important community projects that enhance the quality of life for residents.
